In this sense, geopolitics of shia means power and intensity of effectiveness of shia society on regional and international changes and policies. Main hypothesis of the research seeks to respond to this question that what position demonstration of Arba'een as one of symbolic teachings and elements of sect of shia has in geopolitical weight and power sources of shias? Several factors such as supreme situation of shias in the region, maximum hegemony of shias on energy sources of the middle east, capability of threatening Israeli regime, regional power of Iran, democratic nature of shia governments and in short, events of the region during these four decades (from Iranian revolution) provided field of establishing power of shias in the region. Although power basics of this geopolitics have caused and cause always to image fear of Shia from western– Arabian governments in the region, existing realities state geopolitical power of shier. The present research seeks to redefine geopolitics of Shia. Hypothesis is this, when a true understanding of geopolitics of shia is possible that a true cognition of root and real origin of power of shia is done .here, thoughts and beliefs and in other sense, shia ideology (Ashura, the pond of Khumm, Mahdiism, Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist, etc.) are the same infrastructure and real power of shia. In other sense, in fact real power of shia is due to these values and beliefs. One of these values that today, has been converted into dislpay of faith, unity and power of shias in the region and the world, is huge demonstration of Arba'een. مذهب در سیاست و پیوند با قدرت در زمره‌ی مطالعات ژئوپلیتیک به طور عام و ژئوپلیتیک فرهنگی (ژئوکالچر)، به طور خاص قابل بحث و بررسی است. در این مفهوم، ژئوپلیتیک شیعه به معنای قدرت و شدت تاثیر‌گذاری جامعه شیعه بر تحولات و سیاست‌های منطقه‌ای و بین‌المللی است. مفروضه اصلی پژوهش در پی‌پاسخ به این سوال است که راهپیمایی اربعین به عنوان یکی آموزها و عناصر نمادین مذهب شیعه، از چه جایگاهی در وزن ژئوپلیتیکی و منابع قدرتی شیعیان برخوردار است؟ عواملی چند نظیر: موقعیت برتر شیعیان در منطقه، تسلط حداکثری شیعیان بر منابع انرژی‌ خاورمیانه، قابلیت تهدید رژیم صهیونیستی‌، قدرت منطقه‌ای ایران، ماهیت مردم‌سالاری دولت‌های شیعی و اجمالاً حوادث منطقه، طی این چهار دهه (از انقلاب ایران)، زمینه‌ی تثبیت قدرت شیعیان در منطقه را فراهم آوردند. هرچند بنیان‌های قدرتی این ژئوپلیتیک، همواره باعث تصویر‌سازی هراس از شیعه از جانب دول غربی- عربی، در منطقه بوده و هست؛ ولی واقعیات موجود گویای قدرت ژئوپلیتیکی شیعیان‌اند. پژوهش حاضر، به دنبال بازتعریفی از ژئوپلیتیک شیعه هست. مفروضه این است؛ هنگامی درک درستی از ژئوپلیتیک شیعه میسر می‌شود، که شناخت درستی از ریشه و سرچشمه‌ی واقعی قدرت شیعه حصول شود. در اینجا، افکار و عقاید و به تعبیری ایدئولوژی شیعی (عاشورا، غدیر، مهدویت و ولایت فقیه و...) همان زیر‌بنا و قدرت واقعی شیعه است. به تعبیری، در واقع قدرت حقیقی شیعه ناشی از این ارزش‌ها و باورها‌ست. یکی از این ارزش‌ها، که امروزه، تبدیل به نمایش ایمان، اتحاد و اقتدار شیعان در منطقه و جهان شده‌، راهپیمایی عظیم اربعین است.
